Update on Greyhound Upfront Charge

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

After intensive discussions this week Greyhound have agreed to provide revised arrangements for their €100 charge with €50 to be paid upfront and €50 to be paid by 1st July.

There are still many issues to be resolved with this transfer (and lessons to be learned by DCC) but this is a very welcome step in the right direction.

Changeover to Greyhound for Bin Collections from Monday 16/01/12

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

The operation of the kerbside waste collection service is being transferred by Dublin City Council to Greyhound effective this coming Monday 16/01/12.

Key points to note are summarised as follows:

1. Charges/Price Structures

The annual service charge remains the same (240ltr black bin – €100, 140ltr black bin – €80). Greyhound have also committed to maintaining the per left charges as is (240ltr black bin – €6, 140ltr black bin – €3.60, brown bin – €2) for a minimum period 0f 6 months.

2. Account & Pre-Payment

There is one key difference though in that Greyhound operate a pre-payment system i.e. you must keep your account in credit for your bins to be lifted

Greyhound will maintain an account for all customers (against which a Payment Card will be issued) and it will be possible to top up an account online, at your local post office or at Payzone outlets

3. The Green Bin

Greyhound will give you a barcode for your green bin – once this is on the bin and the relevant account is in credit the bin will be collected.

4. Waiver

Existing waivers as approved by 09/12/11 will remain in force for 2012.

5. Contacting Greyhound

The telephone number is 1890 98 99 98 and the email address is dublincity@greyhound.ie
